Our 2nd grade students spent the past trimester learning about fossils and prehistoric life. For an end of the unit Celebration of Learning, our students visited the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and were able to have some hands on experience that connected to our studies. While there, students met and spoke with real paleontologists, saw many of the fossils and bones they had been learning about, and even got to dig for some fossils themselves. What an incredible day of learning they had! Learning targets for this day were:
- I can make connections between my learning in the fossil unit and the work of a paleontologist at the museum
- I can use my learning from the museum to revise my narrative.
