Dear SOAR families,
I am excited to share a new program SOAR will be piloting for the 2019-2020 school year!
Food for Thought is a group of volunteers who work together to provide food to 37 schools in Denver. More information regarding this program can be found at https://foodforthoughtdenver.org/.
Starting October 11th, volunteers will deliver food to our school every other Friday. One bag will be placed in every student’s backpack/book bag by me or another SOAR staff member. There is no cost to you. Each bag will contain 10-15 items of non-perishable food items for your family. The bag that contains the food, otherwise known as a “powersack”, does not need to be returned to the school.
This is a voluntary program. If this program is not a great fit for your family you may donate the food items to others in your community or contact me to opt out of this program.
