At SOAR we believe in providing deep, engaging opportunities for students to connect their learning inside the classroom to real world experiences. We believe that students are active participants, investigators and collaborators within our community. Fieldwork is created to be both intentional and fun, supporting students’ learning by providing them with hands-on engaging experiences while enhancing their learning of the general education curriculum.
This year students have gone off campus and explored animal defenses and habitats at the Denver Zoo and have enjoyed setting goals, working on their SOAR habit of perseverance both in and out of the classroom while rock climbing at Ubergrippen in Central Park. Students have experienced in house fieldwork such as Flamenco Denver, Hawk Quest and the Butterfly Pavilion all building real world experience, expanding their learning from within the classroom. SOAR is committed to deepening student learning through multiple fieldwork opportunities each year and we are excited for all of the opportunities in our students future.
