Food for Families
Changes to daily pick-up & Friday Pantry Sacks
We are excited to announce that Denver Public Schools (DPS) will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all kids 18 & younger through December 31, 2020. Families can continue to pick up breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. These meals are available for adults at a cost of $3.00 for breakfast and $4.50 lunch.
Friday Pantry Sacks
Starting this Friday, September 11, 2020, we will restart our Friday Powersack distribution. Powersacks will be distributed at the same time as the DPS breakfast and lunch distribution. These pantry sacks are delivered to SOAR from Food for Thought (FFT). FFT is a 100% volunteer organization which strives to eliminate weekend hunger. They currently support 53 schools in the Denver area. Each Friday, individuals, students, and corporate volunteers gather to fill PowerSacks. Each sack contains enough non-perishable food items to feed a family of four for the weekend. Click here to learn more about the FFT work in the community.
If you have questions about food distribution or need assistance due to a lack of transportation, please contact SOAR School Social Worker, Megan Marulli. Megan can be reached by email at mmarulli@soardenver.org or by phone at (720) 287-5100.
