Yesterday, our Community Circle celebrated the culmination of our work around teaching and guiding our student’s efforts around the SOAR Habit, Compassion! Our 4th Grade students presented a movie of their class showing kindness and compassion throughout their school day. See their video here.
In addition, we were able to share our success with our initiative that kicked-off our month of compassion, Socktober.
Each night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. In October, we worked with students and families to show that even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.
Our school was able to collect 625 pairs of new socks! We donated our socks to Warren Village. Click here to learn more about Warren Village and their work in the community.
On behalf of Warren Village, SOAR staff and students we want to thank everyone our community that supported Socktober; helping families in need.
