Dear SOAR Families,
As you know by now, DPS has made the difficult decision to extend Spring Break in order to collectively support the health and well-being of everyone in our community. There will be no school starting Monday, March 16 – Monday April 6. Students will return from this extended Spring Break on April 7, 2020.
I know these past weeks have been a stressful time for the entire community. Thank you for continuing to send your children to SOAR and trusting us to care for them and keep them safe. We are a strong community and we will get through this time together. Thank you for your support this week.
- On Monday the building will be open from 8-10 in case you need to pick up any medications or any other items you were not able to get today.
- Teachers are sending home ideas for learning in order to help you support your child at home. We hope the websites for learning and other work teachers have put together will support you and your family during this extended break.
- Look for resources regarding food access and other critical needs on the DPS website www.dpsk12.org Food pickup will be available at the Evie Dennis Campus, as well as, Montbello. Times for food pickup will be 8 – 9 a.m. and 12-1 p.m. This will be a drive up/pick up process and more information will be posted on the DPS website.
We hope that you are able to enjoy the extended break with your families even during this stressful time. We wish you all a safe and healthy break and we look forward to seeing you in April.

Estimadas familias de SOAR,
Como ya saben, DPS ha tomado la difícil decisión de extender las vacaciones de primavera para apoyar colectivamente la salud y el bienestar de todos en nuestra comunidad. NO habrá clases a partir del lunes 16 marzo al lunes 6 de abril. Los estudiantes regresaran de estas vacaciones de primavera extendidas el 7 de abril del 2020.
Se que estas ultimas semanas han sido un momento estresante para toda la comunidad. Gracias por continuar enviando a sus hijos a SOAR y confiar en nosotros para cuidarlos y mantenerlos a salvo.
- El lunes, el edificio estará abierto de 8 a 10 en caso de que necesite recoger medicamentos o cualquier otro articulo que no haya podido recoger hoy.
- Los maestros están enviando ideas a casa para aprender con el fin de ayudarlos a apoyar a sus hijos en casa. Esperemos que los sitios web para el aprendizaje y otros trabajos que los maestros hayan reunido lo ayuden a usted y a su familia durante este descanso prolongado.
- Busque recursos relacionados con el acceso a alimentos y otras necesidades criticas en el sitio web de DPS www.dpsk12.org . La recolección de alimentos estará disponible en el Campus de Evie Dennis, así como en Montbello. Los horarios para recoger los alimentos serán de 8 a 9 AM y de 12 a 1 PM. Este sera un proceso de llegar en su carro/recoger y se publicara mas información en el sitio web de DPS.
Esperamos que pueda disfrutar las vacaciones prolongadas con sus familias incluso durante este tiempo estresante. Les deseamos a todos unas vacaciones seguras y saludables y esperamos vernos en abril.
